Food Therapy

Yesterday daddy brought mummy and me out to upper bukit timah for some food therapy. Daddy seldom suggests places out of the north area to eat. Seems like daddy is in a good mood. We went to New Garo Japanese restaurant for lunch. The food was ok, not very fantastic. Mummy fed me some japanese white rice and watermelon. I am so happy to eat with daddy and mummy. After that we proceed to Udders ice cream for some dessert. Mummy ordered strawberry fields and chocomarsh ice cream. The waitress gave me a plastic spoon and told me that the ice cream is yum yum. She assumed mummy will share some ice cream with me. Mummy initially didn't want me to have the ice cream but i was eyeing it so much that she relented. She gave me a tiny bit of strawberry fields and i was hooked. I kept screaming for more. Mummy only gave me the strawberry flavored one as she thought fruity ice cream was less sinful than chocolate one. I wasn't supposed to have ice cream at this age. Well, i can't ask for more right? I should be contented to taste some ice cream.

My 2nd tooth

After a long wait, my 2nd tooth is finally visible on my lower jaw. My first tooth has not fully erupted yet and the 2nd one is on its way. My tooth only started showing when i am 10 mths old, that is considered pretty late. Most of my peers has already gotten 4-5 teeth by then. Anyway it's not a serious matter. Daddy and mummy do misses my gummy grin when i was "bo gey".
Recently i like doing this little trick with my mouth. I will do a O shape with my mouth and blow out a big bubble with my saliva. I am amazed by the size of the bubble that i blew out using my mouth. It's much bigger than the bubbles i get from my bubble gun. Keke....

The Great Toy R Us Sale

Mummy had a crazy day today. She went to united square ToyRUs sale at 10plus in the morning and the queue to the sale was already so long. She managed to get some pretty good deals from the sale after fighting hard among the crowd and tight space. Everybody seems to be grabbing the toys as if they are free of charge. Mummy was so tired as she has to carry the heavy bags of toys and manoeuvre among the crowd, queued very long for her turn to pay for the toys and carrying the toys back. She did all these just so that i can have nice toys to play with. Anyway just to share with you the toys she bought for me!

Hello?

I gave mummy a big surprise this morning. She was beside me reading her papers and suddenly she turned to look at me. She couldn't believe what she heard and saw. I picked up the cow toy and placed it on my ear then i said "hello". I have been monitoring mummy making phone calls on her mobile for weeks and months. For the past month, i have shown great interest whenever mummy is making calls. I will be mumbling and cooing at the background, trying to join in the chat. I guess i finally know the function of a phone. Thus i was busying trying it out on whatever i can get hold of. For today, i started practicing putting the phone to my ear and then putting the phone on mummy's ear. I even learnt to say "hello".

Munching good time!

Me eating golden kiwi using Munchkin Fresh Food feeder and properly geared to prevent making a big mess. Hmmm....taste a lil bit sourish, my expression tells all.

Night snack. Wakodo finger biscuit. Yum Yum.

Daddy is a busy bee!

I haven't been seeing daddy much lately. He has been putting in very long hours at work. Especially so for the whole of this week as he is on standby. Daddy goes out to work early in the morning while i'm still sleeping and when he comes back home, i'm in dreamland again. We can hardly see each other. So this blog is also dedicated to daddy so he can read this and know the progresses i have been making while he's busy working. I hope daddy doesn't have to work so hard and we can have time to play together.

11 months!

Today i turned 11 month old. Mummy brought me for a checkup at Dr Ong 's clinic this morning. We waited for nearly 2 hours to get my turn to see Dr Ong. I weighed 9.3kg and am 73cm tall. The nurse said i have a good weight, close to a year old baby. As of today, i still have one tooth and it still not fully out yet. Dr Ong asked mummy to introduce more solid food to me so i can learn to use my strong gums to mash up my food. This will in turn help my teeth to sprout out faster. When i turned one year old, i can start taking full cream milk and most adult food except for peanut, peanut butter and seafood. I was so excited that i snatched Dr Ong's pen and refused to return him. Mummy got to forcefully take the pen out of my grip and apologise to Dr Ong for my misbehaviour. I'm getting more mischievous now and likes to babble non stop when i'm in the mood. Everyone says i'm very talkative and should be able to talk in no time. We shall see.

Bubbles Play

Auntie Siti blowing the bubbles with the bubble gun and Caris trying to catch the bubbles.

Me reaching out to the bubbles and having so much fun!

This bubble machine gun is great. It can generates a lot of bubbles as compared to the duckie bubble wand. Look at me, i'm having a lot of fun.

My Play Yard

The latest addition to my play area. This play yard is suppose to keep me caged up to play on my own while mummy is busy with her household chores. On good days i can stay inside and play on my own quietly for 20 mins. Caris came the other day and she loves this. She refers it as Rachelle's playground. I love to lick on the edge of the play yard though.

Day out @ Bugis Junction

Taking the train ride to Bugis. Weather was bad but our spirits were high.

At BHG, trying to look at Thomas the train but wasn't tall enough to have a good view.

At Whimsy Fun Land and enjoying a "helicopter" ride with Caris.

Another kiddy ride with Caris. Chloe was in front of us and refused to join us in the yellow truck.

Old fashion game to mummy but good fun to me. Whacking the crocodiles.

I enjoyed this game a lot and laughed loudly whenever i see Caris n mummy hitting the crocs.

My first tooth!

Rachelle sings "This is the way i brush my teeth, i brush my teeth, i brush my teeth..." Yippee, i finally have tooth to speak about after 10.5 months of waiting. Mummy has been brushing my gum when i am 10 mth old. She wanted to instill this good habit of brushing teeth. For the past 2 weeks, she has been using the First Teeth baby toothpaste and Infa Dent finger toothbrush and gum massager to massage my gum. As usual, mummy was carrying out her daily routine during my bath time when she made the new discovery. She felt something hard underneath my lower gum. On closer look, my tooth has sprouted out by 10%. No wonder i have been putting my fingers into my mouth more frequently to soothe the itch. I also drool more in comparison to the past. With more teeth coming out, i can eat a wider range of food as i can chew better. Happiness!

Birthday Parties & my Birthday Wish

It's Ernest 1st birthday. See the big balloon behind us!

Chatting with Mummy and Caris at the party. Caris was entertaining me with her singing.

Last weekend was really packed with activities. 2 birthday parties and one gathering. Speaking of birthday parties, i'm turning 1 year old in Oct. Daddy and mummy are holding a small party for me and i am going to be so happy to see all my friends at my party. Mummy has been planning for my party since late July as she was quite free at home then so she started to do some research on the party necessities. By August, she has already confirmed my birthday cake, cupcakes, balloons and the venue. I guess she is still working on the guest list before ordering from the caterer and doing up the party packs as well. Daddy has the easiest job though, he will probably be in charge of paying for the caterer and running little errands on the day itself. My birthday wish for this year is to grow up healthy and strong and for people around me to be happy!
