Thunderstorms

Today is Sunday and the weather is extremely terrible as it's raining cats and dogs outside. The heavy downpour was accompanied with lightnings and frightening thunders. Mummy was afraid that i will get frightened by the loud thunders and kept me close to her. Mummy is getting ready to go out despite the heavy rain as she has planned to go and pay respect to my late maternal grandfather and late relatives together with PoPo, Da Yi and some relatives. 4th April is Qing Ming festival and for the Chinese, it is a day to remember and honor one's ancestors at grave sites. Young and old pray before the ancestors, sweep the tombs and offer food, tea, wine, chopsticks, (joss) paper accessories.

Fun Time with Caris!

This afternoon, daddy drove us out to lunch and then we went to TaiMaoPi opposite Thomson Medical Centre because Da Yi wants to make cord seals and MaoPis for both Caris and Chloe. Mummy was interested to make the cord seal for me initially but on second thoughts she decided not to because the pricing was quite steep and she wasn't sure if she will actually have a nice place to display it. She knew most probably she'll be banishing the seal back to the drawer.
Daddy suggested going to SCC as he wanted to get a haircut and meanwhile Da Yi and PoPo can bring Caris to play at the newly opened Splash Park. However the water at the park was turned off and will only resume at 5pm. The weather was extremely hot and we all decided to enjoy the cool air in the shopping mall. We had lots of fun at Daiso cos i was busy looking around at the colourful array of products and also people watching. Several aunties came up to smile at me and commented that i'm so cute. Hehehe...

H-A-P-P-Y

Today Gu Gu invited the whole family for a sumptuous lunch at Soup restaurant at Causeway Point to celebrate her promotion. Well done Gu Gu!! So proud of you. After lunch, we went shopping at Kiddy Palace. Grandpa wanted to buy soft toys for me but i don't really enjoy playing with soft toys at this moment. Grandpa didn't want to leave the shop empty handed and asked mummy to pick some items for me and she got me another set of clothes. Daddy always say i am so pampered by my grandparents and hope i won't grow up to be too spoilt. Afterall i am the first grandchild and inevitably they will shower me with all the love and gifts. In the late afternoon, Auntie Denise and Uncle Darren came by our place to visit us but their main objection was actually to see our house and ME! Mummy and Auntie Denise happened to hold their house warming on the same day in 2006/7 so they didn't visit each other's house. So Auntie Denise makes sure she come to visit before moving to Australia in April. I like Auntie Denise cos she played with me and i can't stop smiling at her. I am so happy today!

My 1st Wedding Dinner

Yesterday, i attended my 1st wedding dinner at Raffles Town Club. I felt like a little bride as a lot of attention was showered onto me. Many of grandma's relatives were crowding over to catch a glimpse of me while i was drinking my milk. I was so hungry and i did not really bother entertaining the small crowd. The music there was so loud and it disturbed my sleep. I managed to successfully blocked out the noises and got a quick 15 mins power nap before i start to entertain all my relatives including Grandpa, Grandma and Gu Gu. Everybody seemed like playing a game of passing baton with me. I was passed from one person to the other to the next, then back to mummy then to daddy then to another..... I'm getting a headache soon from all the passing about. But on the whole, it is quite a nice experience cos i got to see a lot of people and actions. Did i mention mummy was very well equipped? She wants to make sure that i will be well entertained and play through the whole evening happily. Why wouldn't i be a happy baby with my stroller, toys, pillow, blanket, milk bottles and sling all ready? Anyway mummy and daddy did survive through the entire evening without much fussing from me. : p

Vaccination time

I went for my final 5 in 1 jab today at Peace Clinic. The resident doctor wasn't in today and a young doctor was there instead. Mummy wasn't very sure if the doctor can do a good job cos he was very uncertain about the jabs and made a lot of reference to notes. Probably he just want to make sure he gave the correct jab. When he got the vaccine, he was reading through the notes accompanying it. Mummy could not hold it anymore and ask the doctor whether he administered the jab before, if not she can always come back another time. Daddy and mummy were eye-balling each other and were very uncertain about the doctor's experience in administering jabs. The doctor replied that he was just making sure everything is good before he give the jab. Mummy was pretty experienced already and she distracted me with my toy while the doctor gets ready to inject me with the vaccine. I didn't cry at all, probably my skin has become thicker now that i am at my 5th month. Haha.. The doctor praised me and said i am a very brave girl!

Bubbles = Rain?

Hey, I am learning to sit up. Been trying for a couple of weeks and i see myself having some great improvements. I can lift my head off the pillow longer than 6 seconds and posing for photos. My neck muscles are getting stronger and i bet i will be able to sit up properly in another 2 weeks time? And in another months time, probably be able to sit unassisted? Hope i am not being too ambitious here. Recently i realised i loves blowing bubbles with my saliva and making lots of "bu bu" sounds. The old folks believe that whenever a baby does that, it is sure going to rain. Hmm..*sheepishly nodding*.. it did rain like for the past 3 days. Was it just mere coincidence?

My day @ PoPo's House

See how much fun I am having whenever I go to PoPo's house. Caris and Chloe are always so welcoming and eager to play with me. The toys on the rocker are so alluring and i can't resist tasting them as well. Yeah, thanks to Da Yi for lending me this rocker so that i can put it at grandma's place to play as well.

Lunch @ Swensens

Mummy brought me out to lunch at Swensens yesterday. As daddy was working on saturday, mummy decided to ask auntie Irene out for lunch since she haven't been catching up with her for quite some time. Auntie Irene was thinking about meeting mummy and me before mummy called her. Think that is called telepathy? Initially Uncle Mel wanted to drive us around in his new car but time was limited as Auntie Irene needs to attend classes at 4pm, so the idea was quickly aborted. After lunch we headed home as mummy bought some microwave popcorn and she couldn't wait to try it out. By the way, Mummy is a big fan of buttered/salty popcorn and daddy got to buy her some to make her go to the movies. As we do not have a microwave oven at home (mummy gave ours away), she needs to pop the corn kennels in a saucepan instead. Her first attempt failed big time cos all the popcorn became black in colour. They got burnt and the smell of burnt popcorn lingered in the air for some time. Mummy got wiser and she managed to get decent looking popcorn on her second attempt and they smell great too!

Taka Baby Fair

The much awaited Takashimaya Baby Fair is here! Mummy went for her shopping spree with several mummies this morning at 11am. As a typical singaporean, mummy went early to avoid missing out on the "good buys" and today is the very first day of the fair. I'm so happy because mummy bought me lots of stuffs(see extreme left) Mummy's stash consisted of toys, diaper kit and tools for starting solids. Mummy said she is going to start introducing me to real food when i hit 6 months. Yippee!! Thanks mummy for buying me so many stuffs. I especially love the lady bug toy and Elmo soft book. I'm so happy, i am learning to read!

Food!

Daddy and Mummy simply live to eat, they love eating so much. They went to Vittles, a western eatery located along Sembawang Road on Sunday. Yesterday Daddy arranged dinner with Uncle Andy at Flamingg Mango, another nice western cafe along Jalan Malu Malu. Today we went to Taste of Thailand for dinner. As usual, i am only there to see cos i have got no teeth, can't eat solids yet. I can't wait to be started on semi solids during my 6th month. Looking forward and drooling!!!

My new routine

Since mummy started work like 2 weeks ago, i have been making frequent trips to grandma's place where she will be caring for me in the day while both mummy and daddy are at work. Every tues and friday morning, i will report at grandma's house at around 8am. On mon, wed and thurs, mummy will send me to grandma's house in the afternoon. On days where mummy don't have to work, i will stay at home and that includes saturdays and sundays too. I am quite used to this new routine though i sometimes secretly prayed that mummy don't have to work so she can care for me full time. And my sleep in the morning won't have to be interupted when daddy strapped me in the car seat. Anyway, yesterday daddy brought mummy and me to parkway parade for shopping. Of course that's under the request of mummy cos she's always yearning to go out. They had lunch at ichiban sushi and i was "hidden" under the table and playing with my toy while they are enjoying their meals. After that we were just walking around the mall and enjoying the air con. Not too bad for me cos i slept well in my carrier with cool air surrounding me. What a lazy afternoon i have had!
