Sleep. Love and Hate affair for mummy

Since birth till now, i haven't been able to sleep through the night. From birth to 3 mths plus, i will wake up every 2-3 hourly for milk. 3 mths - 6mths, i will wake up 2-3 times each night and putting me to bed at night was a nightmare for mummy. I cried and refused to sleep. I need to be coaxed into LaLa land for at least an hour or so. On bad days, i cry practically every other hour during the night. Not because i'm hungry but i'm just irritated. Each time, mummy just shrugged it off and console herself that it's a phase. I will outgrown it soon. During my 7 mth, i almost made it to waking up just once a night but it lasted only several days, much to mummy's dismay.
In my 9 mths of age, mummy can actually count with her ten fingers the number of times i actually slept all the way from 10pm to 7am without waking for milk or crying hysterically mid sleep. Day naps are much easier for me. I can drift into sleep faster and without much fuss. Mummy can then start doing her chores. Putting me to bed is much more difficult now. Just when mummy put me on my back, i'll do a flip and starts crawling away. I like to meddle with the bed frame, scratching on the leather board and making those irritable sounds for fun. Or i'll send a flying kick on daddy's face or mummy's chest and then crawl all over daddy. I still wakes up 2-3 times a night for milk. Ok, i will promise to be good and create less trouble for mummy by trying to sleep through soon... i'm trying.

My First Tricycle

Daddy got me a tricycle this evening. When i first sat in it, i was so stoned. I didn't show any interest or excitement at all. I'm probably still feeling groggy from my earlier nap. After mummy bathed me, she put me in the tricycle again. This time i'm much awake and i started to explore the parts on the tricycle. With this tricycle, mummy will bring me for walks in the park more often. Hooray!

Hi GIRL!

It's so nice to be a girl, i get to own lovely clothes, pretty hair accessories and cute toys. There are simply too many cute and adorable stuffs for girls. The variety is plentiful but pity mummy cos it means she will spend more on me. Keke. Nobody can resist the temptation of buying sweet and cute lil girly stuffs. Auntie Irene went shopping last week during lunch and spotted nice lil dresses and got me not 1 but 3 dresses at one go. "Thank You, Auntie Irene!" Mummy is so tempted by so many beautiful stuffs for girls and she is very motivated in attempting to learn dress making. I hope she will be successful at that!

Swimming on Sunday

At the pool with mummy last sunday.

The usual party of swimmers.

Lunch at Vittles after swimming.

Ansel's Full Month Party

Last Saturday, we went to Gu Po's place at The Warren to attend her 7th grandchild Ansel's full month party. I was more interested in the pool than anything else. Luckily my Gu Zhang brought me around the pool area and let me play in the water. Daddy and mummy later came and joined us at the pool after their lunch. I played in the waters till my pants got wet. Mummy did bring along my swim wear but she was too lazy to change into hers so she didn't allow me to swim. Shortly after, it started to rain and we hang around the function room for a short while before visiting my great grandparents at their Teck Whye home.

I'm scared of mask

All thanks to mummy that i got a fright last night. I could not recognise mummy and thought that person was some kind of an alien or monster that i cried badly. It was actually mummy doing her beauty thingy. She put on a face mask and the white face was so scary. Even with daddy around, i'm still so scare. Mummy peeled off half the mask to assure me that it's her but i still cry and i look so pathetic with big tear drops on my face. In the end mummy got to peel off and throw the mask away. Mummy, please don't frighten me with this again okay..

I'm 9 mths old today!

Yeah! I'm 9 months old today. See the green M&M romper i'm wearing? It's a gift from my uncle who's in the states. He gave it to me when i turned 1 month and after 8 months of waiting i finally can wear it! I'm growing stronger and bigger by the day. I still can't crawl well on my fours. I crawl by inch and i love to get into the crawling position and shake my bum bum. Ermm.. but i can do a good leopard crawl though and turn in all directions smoothly. I am also learning to stand with some support but my legs are still wobbly if i stand too long. Guess my weight is weighing me down a little. Lately i'm also not too interested in milk but i always eagerly waiting in anticipation for porridge time! Yummy! Drooling and thinking what porridge i'm going to have today? When mummy put me down to play in my corner, i will reach out to her to carry me as i don't like to be left alone to play by myself. When daddy ask me to kiss him, i slap his face instead. Daddy thought i'm probably mixed up with KISS and SLAP. Whenever i'm in daddy's car, i can't sit still and love to meddle with the stuffs inside the car. Be it the parking coupon, the gear, the side door buttons, i'm sure to reach out for them. Mummy and daddy got to carry me with greater effort cos i love to toss and turn in their arms. When i saw mummy after she is back from work, i want her to carry me. If she ignores me, i will cry. I smile widely whenever i see daddy back from work. I love practising clapping and waving when i'm just awake from my nap. I still love to play with mummy's handphone and the remote controls. I'm sure with time, i will make more new discoveries and cross milestones! Stay tuned!

Lunch at Manpuku

After the photo shoot, we went to Manpuku at Tampines One for lunch. The food looks so yummy but mummy said it doesn't taste as good though and it's not cheap. There is usually a long queue at the food joint when we visited the mall during weekends but because it's Wednesday, the whole place was pretty empty.

Sean Lau Photoshoot

Today is the day for Sean Lau Photography. Mummy signed me up for the photoshoot during the motherhood fair. Our appointment was at 10am this morning. It was a wet morning and i got to wake up at 8am. My usual waking time is around 10plus, so you can imagine how sleepy i still am. *Yawn* Mummy then gave me a bath and put me back to bed again. She let me sleep as much as possible and only woke me up when we are ready to leave the house at 9.20am. Mummy always does this to make sure i get lots of sleep when going out for a longer period. If i'm not well rested, i get cranky easily. I am someone who doesn't like to smile at strangers. I will just stare hard at them without blinking my eyes. However i actually smile effortlessly at the photographer when he started taking pictures of me. I smiled, i posed and i clapped my hands for him. Daddy and mummy are so proud of me. I am quite co-operative and enjoyed taking the pictures. However 45 mins into the session, i started to get tired and the Zzzz monster slowly creeped up on me. I took 5 mins rest and then i got back into posing for the camera. Mummy and daddy were acting silly and making lots of funny sounds to make me laugh. They succeeded. 20-30mins later i took another 5 mins rest. It's not easy being a model, i've got to keep changing clothes and smiling at the camera. So tired. Luckily i was still feeling fine after the short breaks in between the shoot and i continued taking pictures after that. Towards the end, i got slightly more annoyed due to tiredness. Luckily there were Gerber stars from the photographer to cheer me up. Once mummy pop the star puff in my mouth, i smiled and started chewing. When i finished the puff, i threaten to cry again. So just pop in a star and i will smile. I don't work without rewards, that is what daddy said. After an exhausting 2 hrs, I'm glad i did well and hopefully the photos will turn out really pretty! Opps! Mummy will have to fork out more money to buy the pictures, haha!

My favourite activity

So interested in the water and ignoring daddy's instructions to smile at the camera.

Hey, that Janessa pushing me around the pool in Caris's float.

Trying to stand in the water and with some support from mummy.

I am doing the back stroke.

I was suppose to attend AQUADUCK trial over the weekend but as daddy couldn't send us there and the class happen to be cancelled, we went swimming with Da Yi and family in the late morning instead. I have so fun in the water and i really enjoyed myself.

Swimming!

Smiling happily at the camera while waiting for the rain to stop.

Chloe and me. She likes to hug and "sayang" me.

Mummy and me by the pool side. Stop taking photos, let me go into the pool.

Just one more shot ya and i'm going in the POOL.......

The rain came again after less than 5 mins in the pool. Stoning away.

Look at me and my Pooh Bear waverider. Nice?

Caris and me.
I love touching the water! Fun! Stretch..ch....

Hey! I went swimming, finally. This is my first time going swimming. We went to Yishun Emerald together with Da Yi, Caris and Chloe. The weather this week is still pretty bad, there was no sun and dark clouds were looming on Tuesday. It started drizzling when we reached the condo. We had to seek shelter and wait for the rain to go away before swimming. The rain stopped after 15-20mins and we went into the pool. I didn't show any fear of the water at all. I am a natural water baby! Wahahaha. I sat in my Pooh Bear Waverider and started kicking my legs in the water and leaning over to touch the water. Never mind that the water splashed all over my face. It was good fun!

Bad Weather = No Swimming!

Admiring the beautiful and interesting Rainforest jumperoo. Just seeing it makes me happy.

"Hey daddy, will you be buying this for me?" It's fun!

Couldn't help but laugh heartily at daddy's funny actions and sounds. U are tickling my funny bone! Wahahahaha...

Daddy and his colleague's newborn. It's a girl! I'm more interested in looking at the uncle.

Last Sunday, i was supposed to go swimming at Auntie Maggie's place after attending Daddy's colleague's baby full month at Seng Kang. However the weather has been gloomy and the dark clouds threatened to rain any time. Mummy was keeping her fingers crossed as she wanted me to start swimming. She has been talking about swimming for the longest time but never put into action. Nevertheless, we still make our way to Auntie Maggie's place in Chantilly Rise. Along the way, it rained thus we went straight up to Auntie Maggie's house. Auntie Maggie is mummy's forum friend and she has kindly invited the mummies and babies to her place for swimming and potluck session. Some mummies and babies were already in the house and playing with the toys. They are so many toys there and i love to play on the rain forest jumperoo. I can jump in it. So fun. Yippee.... Daddy say i am too violent and i look like i am going to break the jumperoo in no time. It was raining quite heavily and for the rest of the late afternoon, we just stayed in the house and play with other babies and toys.

Shopping N Mahjong

Last friday, i went shopping at Jurong Point 2 with mummy and xiao yi. We had lunch at Din Tai Feng and after that was shopping, shopping and more shopping! Mummy and xiaoyi did have a break for some Swensens ice cream in between shopping. I was such a good girl and followed them shop to shop to try on clothing. Mummy bought quite a bit of clothing for herself and she was so happy that the trip was so fruitful. On Saturday, daddy was working hard as usual. He went to work in the morning and came back home only at 11.30pm. Gosh, he must be really tired. So in the day, mummy brought me out. She brought me to Yew Tee to pass Min Ting Jie Jie her policy documents. After that mummy went to Causeway Point to buy me stuffs. She bought some wet wipes, bottle teats and some toys for me. We meet Xiao Yi for lunch before proceeding to 3rd Ah yi house to watch them play Mahjong. I'm so excited whenever they "wash" the tiles. The sound is so familiar to me cos i heard it so many times while in mummy's tummy. She's an ardent fan of Mahjong and can play into the wee hours even when pregnant with me. I guess mummy only stop 2 weeks before birth and after birth, she hardly have time for it. Anyway, she did play 1 game yesterday cos 3rd Ah Yi volunteer to babysit me while mummy plays.

Let's Clap and Wave.

I gave mummy a nice surprise after her dinner date today. Ah ma told her that i can wave bye bye and clap my hands. When mummy came over i wave bye bye to her after her request for me to perform. After weeks of teaching from both Mummy and Ah ma, i managed to learn how to wave. This morning, mummy taught me to wave and also to clap my hands but i didn't show her any signs that i was going to master it soon. So that was really a pleasant surprise to her when i did both tricks. Mummy has been showing me where are my eyes, nose, head, mouth and ears for the past few days. I will do my best to learn and give her another surprise!
