Happy Birthday!

"Once a year, there's a very special day. It's my Birthday! ", yup that's what i always hear on Disney Junior Channel and i am glad i am celebrating my birthday in October finally. In fact i already have 2 birthday celebrations and my birthday is tomorrow!
I have a birthday celebration at home with my immediate family members on 2nd Oct. Mummy and daddy ordered a mini buffet and i have a strawberry shortcake birthday theme this year. I have been looking forward to my birthday ever since mummy told me about my party. Thanks to my grandparents and shu shu for their ang paos. Thanks to Ah yis and gu gu for their presents. Yesterday i had another celebration in my school at YMCA. Daddy and mummy bought another strawberry shortcake themed cake and some goodies bags for my friends in school. I am elated when my friends sang me birthday songs. It is really nice to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. I really loves cakes and candles as they really make my day! Looking forward to more birthday celebrations in the years to come.
Thanks Daddy and mummy for spending so much time and money to celebrate my birthday this year!

My updates

Going to school has been a really fun event for me. I am looking forward to school everyday as i get to play with my friends and learn new songs from my teachers. I am also very cheerful and happy whenever mummy or grandma came to school to fetch me home. My mood is super duper good as i had a fun day in school.
Daddy and mummy came to school to pick me up, as usual i was in my happy mood. I had a quick bath at home before i go over to my maternal grandma place for dinner. It's been some time since i ate at grandma's place because she seldom cook now as she is staying alone. Most of the times, she will go over to our house or Da Yi's house for dinner instead. Sigh, i am having constipation again. It's been 4 days since i last moved my bowels. I kept trying to pass motion but failed. The pain was so intense that i cried while trying to poop. Daddy and mummy had to stay beside me to console me. I tried several times in the evening and finally on my 3-4 attempt, i managed to move my bowels and i laughed happily after that. What a relief! Phew! My stools were hard and bloody. Poor me! Mummy told me to eat more fruits and drink more water and i shouldn't have the same problem next time.

Hello Sister!

Mummy is expecting a little girl in Nov and i am going to be a big sister! I am happy and excited at times. I will run up to mummy to hug and kiss her tummy. Stroke mummy's swelling belly and call out to my little sister's name. At times, i will be jealous when mummy ask me not to jump or cross over her tummy and i will smack my mummy's tummy and put on an angry face.

Mummy is trying to make me feel comfortable and acceptable to my little sister's arrival. However i have been the apple of my parents' eyes for the past 3 years. It can get hard not to be receiving their 100% attention. I know they still love me deeply and i will always be their little precious. Well maybe time will tell and after all i can be a doting big sister.

I'm so into acting

Mummy is having a great time watching me as i reenact the scenes that happened to me during the day and the events. Everyday i will put on a show of a typical day in school. Most of the time, i will take up the role of teacher and "lecturing" the children which are my classmates. Sometimes i will also pretend to be mummy and create a scene where i bring my kid to childcare. Just last night, mummy recited the commercial lines for mama lemon washing detergent and i actually can reply the lines back to her. She was laughing so hard to see how serious i was in my reply. She asked whether i want to be a child actor so she can start grooming me in that area. I think she must be dreaming of being a star mommy so badly. Of course i don't want cos i will be scared. I am only at ease acting in front of mummy but not in front of strangers. Sharon and Charis yi yi has been informing mummy about kids modelling contests whenever they saw the advertisement. This time round, Mother and Baby magazine is looking for kids between 3-8 who possess the aura of a princess. However mummy is not too keen as the audition and photo shoot will start in oct and nov respectively. Mummy is due to deliver end of oct or early nov so the timing is not good at all. Well i don't think i am ready at this stage as well.

Hooray, it is the time for holidays again to Genting. This is my 2nd trip to Genting and i love the cool weather and theme parks best. Daddy is driving for this trip and we are all very excited.
Due to the recent jam at the immigration checkpoints because of the new biometric procedures, we decided to set off in the wee hours. I woke up at about 3.45am and we picked up uncle Darren n Nicole yi yi at 4.15am at their house in woodlands. We arranged to meet at the first petrol kiosk in JB with Da Yi Zhang and Uncle Marc. Altogether, 10 adults and 3 kids are travelling in 3 cars. The sky was still dark when we set off but i was all bright and bushy tailed. All ready to start my holidays. We made several stops to take a leak and have a bite during the long journey. It was tiring for daddy as the driver but fun for me as a passenger. Hehe... We reached Genting around 11am and we went to the kopitiam at First World for our lunch. Genting was very crowd as it was the June holidays. There were so many kids. After lunch, we checked into our hotel rooms and took a short nap. After our rest, we shopped a while at the mall and had dinner before heading back to our room to retire for the day.
The next morning was specially planned for the kids. We had breakfast at McDonald's and then it was to the indoor theme park and outdoor theme park. I enjoyed the rides very much and i was grinning from ear to ear. I was just so happy and excited. I had a quick nap during lunch at Old Town Cafe and by the time we reached our room for a short rest, i was awake and couldn't go back to sleep again. After 1-2 hours of rest, we hit the theme park again for our favourite rides.
The next morning, we quickly packed our luggage before heading out to Ah Yat Restaurant for Dim Sum. After our Dim sum lunch, we checked out and got ready to head back home.
It was a fast and short holiday but very fun and enjoyable for me. Check out the pics.

Last Day of School at Kindercom

Times flies and it's been a year since i first started playgroup at Kindercom at 19 months. Now i am 31 months old and i attended my last lesson at Kindercom today. I will be progressing to attend childcare at Metropolitan YMCA at Yishun in June.
No holidays for me in June. Not that i mind, anyway i have more friends to play with at my new childcare centre. I attended an orientation program last monday and i really like my new school.
They have a really cosy place and i enjoy visiting the toilets as the toilet bowl and sink are just the right size and height for me.
Hope i can adapt well to the new environment and make new friends easily.
Shall update on my progress soon again.

Day trip to JB Tesco and KSL

Right after attending Matthias' Birthday party, i was off to Johor Bahru with Da yi's family and my parents. We did some grocery shopping at Tesco before having another round of indoor playground fun at KSL.
I guess i am a bit exhausted by now but nevertheless it's still FUN!
Having Shabu shabu for dinner. Daddy was displeased with me for misbehaving at dinner but clearly i wasn't paying too much attention to him.
And i am still running around the restaurant, taking some pictures.

Weaning off mummy's milk

Immediately after my Taiwan Trip, Mummy and Grandma were determined to wean me of breastfeeding. With Grandma's help, i stayed over at her place for 4 nights straight. She fed me formula milk during the night. I was afraid of ants during this period and mummy tried to scare me off breastfeeding by telling me she got ants on her boobs. It did work somehow and i never ask her to breastfeed me again. Yes i have outgrown mummy's milk!

Taiwan, Taipei 12th-15th Mar 2011

I went to Taipei on 12th of March with daddy and mummy. We left for the airport at 6am as we have to check in at 6.30am for our 8.30am flight. After checking in, we had our breakfast at Kiliney Kopitiam. I was feeling good and happy during my flight. I watched wiggles, snacked on tidbits, have my lunch and napped on the 4+ hours flight.
When we touched down at Taipei, the temperature was 14 degree Celsius. It was so cold but i like it! There wasn't any sun and the sky was cloudy and grey. After checking in at Fortune Hyatt Hotel, i had a quick bath and rest before venturing around the streets nearby. It was so cold and mummy bought me a wool beanie from one of the stalls. It cost NT800, not cheap but what to do. Mummy was afraid that the cold will make me sick so she has to cover and protect my head and ears. We didn't wander off too far as we need to gather in the hotel for the bus to pick us up for dinner at "Hai Ba Wang" restaurant. The dinner portion was so huge but the food didn't appeal to me and i didn't eat much. In fact i was playing happily with other kids in the group (mummy's colleagues' kids). We were running around and going in circles. I was having so much fun that mummy thought i am going bonkers. I laughed loudly and kept dragging the other kids to follow me around the restaurant.
After dinner, we went to Long San Si Temple followed by Huaxi Street Night Market. We tried the local food like Hua Zi Yuan(sotong balls), salted chicken, bubble tea, yam or some kind of flour balls. I was still feeling energetic through out the night and it was almost 11pm when we left the night market. I slept close to 12 midnight on the 1st night.
On the 2nd day, we woke up at 7am. We need to gather at 8am for our day tour. We didn't manage to have our free breakfast as the restaurant was too crowded. So daddy bought us some bread from a nearby convenience store. We went to Zhi You Guang Chang (Zhong Zheng Ji Nian Tang) and did some sightseeing. Then to Yeliu for some photo taking and sightseeing. We proceeded to Jing Shan Old street for shopping and lunch. That place was crazy, it was jam packed with people. There is a famous eatery there when diners will just pick up or i should say snatch the cooked dishes at the kitchen and then deliver their plates of food through the crowd street and to their tables about 50m away. We literally squeezed ourselves through the crowd and to our tables located on the 3rd floor of the restaurant. The food was so so, we can't justify why there are just so many people queuing for the food.
After lunch, we proceeded to the "touristy" places like the Mao's house and Pi Siu shops where they tried to convince us to buy their deer placenta, royal jelly, Lingzhi and the very expensive Pi Siu. As daddy and mummy have been through these and purchased quite a bit the last time they visited taiwan, they are not ready to commit to these purchases again.
By night, we arrived at Shilin night market and had their famous Chicken cutlet but it didn't taste as good as before. We didn't eat much over at the night market as their food don't really appeal to us. Instead i spent most of my time playing on the kiddy ride. scooping fishes, playing street games at Shilin Night Market. It was very enjoyable and i had so much fun.
The next day we went on our own group tour to Yang Ming Shan in the morning. The park was so beautiful with blooming cherry blossoms everywhere. The park was full of other blooms as well and just being there makes us happy. Along the way we dropped by a calla lily farm and a shop full of windmills. We had lunch at Jiu Fen and spent 3 hrs there before proceeding to Wu Fen Pu. There are so shops selling clothes at very reasonable prices. Mummy went to one shop and purchased 7 pieces of clothing. Then we went to another shop selling children clothing and mummy purchased another 10 pieces. It was cheap as 1 piece of top only cost S$4.50. Mummy had wanted to shop more but i was getting cranky and refused to walk or let daddy carry me. I insisted mummy to carry me and she couldn't take it anymore but to rest at a tea joint while waiting for the time to gather. Our last stop was at Si Men Ding, it was a cool night and we merely walked through the streets. there wasn't much stuffs to buy here. However i had the opportunity to see a lot of dogs over here. There were Doggie themed restaurant and big golden retrievers were seen at the restaurant. I went up to the dogs and patted them.
Fast time passes quickly and we checked out of our hotel at 10.30am. There wasn't much time for us to do anything on the last day. We had breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport to catch our flight home.

I love strawberries!

Recently, i have taken a liking to strawberries. I guess the current harvest of Korean strawberries are much sweeter in comparison to the usual ones i had last time. Grandma limits me to 2 strawberries per day and i kept begging her for more. Over the weekend, i followed mummy to the supermarket and requested her to buy some for me. I finished a quarter of it and the very next day when i pass by the supermarket, i asked mummy to buy some for me again. Soon i shall look like strawberry shortcake!

Developments at 28 months

On Potty Training
My potty training hasn't been in full gear yet. Mummy allows me to go diaper free once in a while but i wasn't ready. Usually i will informed mummy when i already peed. Thus mummy wasn't actively training me in that.Just the other day while at grandmother's place, she let me go diaper free for the entire day. I peed on the floor twice and was successful twice. I think with regular training at grandmother's place, i should be able to go diaper free very soon.

On Overall Health
February is a lousy month for me. I was sick for most of the time partly due to the erupting molars on my lower jaws and due to the powerful virus that were flying around in the air, everywhere! I was constantly running a fever. On the first week of CNY and the 3 week of the month. Sigh!! I have lost quite a bit of baby fat on my previously chubby face. I was also having cough here and then. Could be due to too much CNY snacking and low water consumption. My eyes were not spared too. I got swollen upper eyelid one day and swollen lower eye the next. Urghh!! What's wrong with me? Mummy suspects that i may have the same allergy to ibuprofen as her. Mummy get swollen eye too if she's on iprobufen. I pray for good health all year round.. for me and my family.

On Sharing
Yes, i am still not keen in sharing my things with anybody. I scream and cry when i feel threaten.
Mummy is slowly teaching me on the subject on sharing but i guess i will take some time to understand it's ok to share.

On Communication
I am now speaking more in mandarin as compared to english. I can understand english but i couldn't speak well. But recently i am picking up english vocabulary faster. I can repeat mummy's words almost immediately. As for longer sentences, i think i will eventually get there.
Mmmy often hears me say stuffs she didn't know i could. : ) I grow up faster than she realised. Heh.Just the other day grandma told mummy that i told her i want to 結 婚. When probed further who i want to marry i replied, "Kor Kor". I was referring to Ernest, my cousin. : p Mummy got a shock that i said such stuffs when i wasn't even 3 year old yet.

CNY 2011 Rabbit Year

Chinese New Year has always been the most exciting period of the year. I get to wear new clothes, visit my relatives and friends, eat nice new year goodies and get lots of ang paos. However, this chinese new year didn't go well as i should have .
On the eve of chinese new year, we had our reunion dinner at Soup restuarant in Causeway point. After dinner, we went to my grandparents' place. On the first day of CNY, we went to my maternal grandmother's place. I was still feeling fine and playing with kady. However i was coughing still and daddy don't let me eat too much new year goodies. I had a quick nap over then before heading over to great aunt's place in woodlands. It was only after i left my great aunt's place that i started to get feverish. By the time i reach my great grandparents' place, i was running a mild fever. I played with Ernest, my cousin a bit and after that i was all cranky and "sticky" to mummy. By the time i went to my great uncle's place, my fever shot up. Less than 30 mins of visiting, mummy decided to bring me home to feed me fever medicine.
My fever didn't subside on CNY day 2. The whole i was at my paternal grandparents' place. I was feeling very cranky and irritable. Same goes for the 3rd and 4th day of CNY. We didn't do much visiting over the weekend.
On the 5th day of CNY, my fever finally subsided. But i got runny nose instead. The whole time i was at my mummy's boss place, my nose was runny. What a lousy feeling. I was feeling so lethargic by the end of the day. I slept almost immediately when we got on the cab back home.
My wish for the new year is to be healthy and free of sickness .

Wow, time really flies and it's been so long since i updated my blog. Christmas came and went. New Year came and went. Next on the list of celebrations will be the much anticipated Lunar New Year.
Mummy has gotten me a red dress from Zara for CNY. She will be hunting for a traditional chinese costume this week at chinatown. My 2 pairs of shoes are also ready. In fact i went to chinatown last weekend with Da Yi and family to get myself soaked the up with CNY mood. Chinatown was bustling with life, lots of goodies to buy, new year decorations to see and CNY music to hear. Luckily it wasn't a very hot day, otherwise i probably won't enjoy myself as much squeezing through the crowded walkway. Mummy bought some candies and a CNY DVD. She didn't manage to do much shopping with me tagging along. That explained why she needed to make another trip to chinatown this week. : p
I hope to meet up with more friends during the coming CNY. Happy Lunar New Year to all in advance and wishing my family and myself good health, joy and prosperity in the Rabbit Year!
